3D Commune's Weird Science Contest - September 2003

I really did myself a disservice by starting the render on this image only less than a day away from deadline. It was a 20-hour render, and--afraid to miss the deadline--I entered the preview render (above) of one of its earlier stages instead. Needless to say, I didn't win.
